Mike Lucas
"Nothing worth having in life is ever easily achieved. When you work out with
me, I am going to do everything I can to make sure you are motivated, excited, and
happy as we work towards your fitness goals. I will teach you how to dig deep down
inside yourself to find out what you are truly made of. When I see a client succeed
and conquer new milestones, I feel great myself and that is the biggest reward for
me as an RKC." — Mike Lucas, RKC
Mike
Lucas, RKC, battled morbid obesity for almost 10 years. Prior to his
vegan lifestyle change, Lucas was junk food addict. When his weight
shot up to 344 pounds, he knew he was in trouble. His hypertension and
the growing threat of diabetes forced Lucas to make a decision between
life and death. Lucas got serious about his new lifestyle of diet and
exercise and lost a total of 114 pounds before joining Iron Core.
Lucas entered a local weight loss contest co-sponsored by Iron Core in November of
2005. This was when he was first introduced to Kettlebell strength training. With
the guidance of Sarah Lurie, RKC, and Brett Jones, Senior RKC, he lost an amazing
46 pounds in 6 weeks! At this point he reached his overall goal of a 164 pound weight
loss and became a believer in Kettlebell strength training! After months of training
and hard work, Lucas was approached by Lurie with the idea of becoming a Russian Kettle
Bell Challenge Instructor. Never afraid of a good challenge, Lucas accepted and became
the newest RKC instructor to join Iron Core in June of 2006.
Mr. Lucas's professional accreditations include:
- Certified Russian Kettlebell Instructor (RKC)
Since making his goal weight, Lucas has devoted his life to promoting weight loss
advocacy and physical fitness. Lucas writes a bi-weekly column for GetOffYourFatButt.com.
In addition to continuing his education in fitness, Lucas's plans to devote time to
motivational workshops and non-profit work for childhood obesity awareness.
