Sarah Lurie, founded Iron Core in October 2004 and subsequently created a radical shift in the Southern California fitness community. In the years since, thousands of fitness oriented people have gone through Lurie's Iron Core Program. Based in San Diego, Sarah Lurie and Iron Core continue to dominate the kettlebell fitness market. A born entrepreneur, Sarah Lurie has naturally taken her brand of kettlebell training nationwide. She is the author of the quintessential, Kettlebells For Dummies and her complete line of kettlebell workout DVDs are available in mass retail chains and sporting goods stores.
Lurie is a certified strength and conditioning coach (CSCS) sanctioned by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and she is a certified Russian Kettlebell Challenge Instructor. Lurie is a Girevoy Sport Competitor and a Candidate for Master of Sports (CMS). CMS is the highest ranking a woman can achieve as a GS competitor.
Lurie is nationally recognized as a kettlebell expert and has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Fitness, Oxygen, Women's Health, Reader's Digest and Newsweek Magazines. She has appeared on E! News, The Big Idea with Donnie Deutsch, Better Homes and Gardens TV, Home Shopping Network (HSN) and numerous local television fitness programs. Lurie is the author of Kettlebells For Dummies (Wiley Publishing, June 2010).

Lurie earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Arizona and a Masters in Public Administration from San Diego State University. While an undergrad at Arizona, Lurie founded a non-profit organization entitled "Girlogy." Through Girlogy, Lurie's mission was to empower and encourage underprivileged young women to pursue careers in the traditionally male dominated science and technology fields. She lives with her husband and daughter (and soon to be second child) in San Diego.
